Swastika a stolen symbol:
The swastika is an ancient symbol that has been used for over 3,000 years. called by various names:
Greece it was called: tetraskele and gammadion
Germany it was called: Hakenkreuz
England it was called: fylfot
India it was called: swastika
Native Americans also have long used the symbol of the swastika.
They all have very similar icons. The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix.
untill the Nazis used the symbol to murder millions of people.
in India It signified life, sun, power, strength, and good luck, calm or noble.
What further proof do you need that the origins of culture started in India. with the sanskrit language and the symbol of the Swastica being deposited all over the world

Polytheist India -- Monotheist China -- Democratic/Fascist West

Ch'in made China

Hello Paul
True. But Chinese culture is more like insular firmly controlled uniracial one. Their religion has been always very abstract and more ethics based than ritualistic or spiritual-religious organization etc.
There is a new site HistoryTalk.com that will provide ample space on these topics.

Well,,thats an interesting thought..
Personally I feel Shiva is more of an symbol of relegious thought and less of a mythological figure..though you cant take away his sheer dominating presence from the panthyon of Indian mythology.
Shiva,,the distroyer...is a limiting image of what is otherwise a multifaceted idea.I'm no scholar but have always pictured Shiva as a Strong and Fearless lord who is equally at ease when in a yogic trance as he is at doing his Tandav..also his nexus with the neither world and his proximity to graveyards from where he precures the ash to smear over himself.
Shiva is a refelction of an idea of an ideal human being who has attained a state of equlibrium
with supreme control over ones senses and thereby the mind. His power comes from this control and his Tandav is the dance of distroying the effects of Maya..the veil of illusion that makes us identify ourselves with our body instead of our soul.
