Dexter,
If that was about the interview during the world series, I agree with you. It was petty on the reporter's part, I don't know if he was told to do it, to try to pin Rose down just when he had recieved the longestovation of all and had been accepted by the League officially as base ball great.
I know that some times reporters feel that they should tell people what they should think, instead of reporting facts as they are and leaving it at that.

Joseph,
I broadcast the news, but I'm not a reporter. I think the questions are sometimes reviewed by the news director or news producer. I'll have to ask some of the reporters at the station today and ask them.

Joseph,
As a person in broadcasting, I know that the journalist was both trying to get the juiciest part of the truth and at the same time meant well. But many folks thought that was the wrong time to ask Pete Rose that did he or did he not gamble on betting for or against his team. He could've asked him on television "How does it feel to be in front of your fans after years of being treated like an outcast, a pariah?" He could asked him something like that. Now asking him did he or not gamble should've been asked off camera without embarrassing himself or Pete Rose. As a journalist, you should get the news, report it and that's it. It's not a reporter's job to rain on somebody's parade. Even if Rose had done it, ask it on another day or let it go. Gambling is a victimless crime. Let Mr. Rose have his day with his fans.
